What SlakBot stores
Where to find it: Full privacy policy: slakbot.nl/en/privacy
Per server, SlakBot stores your settings and your custom commands. Per member, it stores what the features need: Discord ID and name, warnings and moderation history, XP, coins and tickets. You log in to the panel with Discord, so SlakBot never sees your password, but it does keep track of when you logged in, from which IP address and with which browser. SlakBot does not store DMs, passwords or phone numbers.
- Images that SlakBot checks for scams are examined on SlakBot's own server. Only a fingerprint (hash) of an image is kept, never a copy.
- When SlakBot blocks a scam message, it keeps who sent it and the text of that message for 6 months.
- When a viewer links Twitch to Discord, SlakBot stores their Twitch ID and Twitch name. When you link your Twitch channel as a streamer, the access to it is stored encrypted.
- The text of Twitch chat messages is not saved in the database. For moderation, SlakBot only keeps the last 300 messages per channel in working memory. They are gone after the bot restarts.
- SlakBot uses no tracking or advertising cookies.
How long SlakBot keeps data
Where to find it: Happens automatically, nothing to set
SlakBot cleans up part of the data by itself every day. The rest has no fixed term: it stays until you or your mods delete it, or until someone asks for it to be removed.
- Viewer list after the stream: 7 days per stream.
- A viewer's Twitch watch time and chat counts: deleted once that viewer hasn't been seen in your channel for 12 months.
- Moderation in your Twitch chat (who got a timeout or ban): 90 days.
- Panel login history: 12 months.
- Blocked scam messages: 6 months.
- SlakBot ban list: 12 months on the list at most. When someone comes off it, SlakBot lifts its own bans and everything is deleted about 30 days later.
- A !koppel link works for 15 minutes.
- Settings, warnings, moderation history, levels, coins and tickets: no fixed term.
Twitch viewers: opting out with !privacy
Where to find it: In the Twitch chat of a channel with SlakBot
If you use the Twitch chatbot, SlakBot counts each viewer's chat messages. If Reward watch time is on, it also counts their watch minutes. This includes viewers who haven't linked. When a viewer types !privacy, they are no longer counted for watch time, chat counts or the viewer list, in every channel with SlakBot. What was already stored about them is deleted. With !privacy on they are counted again.
- !privacy works in every channel where SlakBot is in the chat, even if your chat commands are off or you use a different prefix. You can't create a custom command with that name.
- While a viewer is opted out, SlakBot keeps their Twitch ID, so it knows to skip them, and the channel where they typed !privacy. The latter is only for counting: you see how many viewers opted out in your chat, never who.
- Viewers who opt out no longer earn watch-time coins. Coins they earn by chatting themselves stay. Coins they already had are not deleted.
- If Public leaderboard on is enabled (in the new panel also called Public leaderboard on), the Twitch names of your viewers appear with their watch time and message count on a public page. If Active chatters only is off, this includes viewers who never said anything. This is OFF by default.
Commands
!privacy
Opt out: stop being counted for watch time, chat counts and the viewer list, and delete what was already stored.
!privacy on
Be counted again.
Viewer list after the stream
Where to find it: New panel → Twitch Chat-bot → Viewer list after the stream
After each stream you get an overview of who was in your chat, by name. You see who said something (with roughly how long and how many messages) and who only watched (with roughly how long). SlakBot only sees silent viewers who are logged in to Twitch with the chat open, and only if SlakBot is a moderator in your channel. Each stream stays for 7 days and is then deleted automatically. On by default on servers with the new panel, as soon as watch time is on (see the steps). The old panel doesn't have the viewer list, and then SlakBot collects nothing either.
Steps
- The list works when SlakBot is in your Twitch chat and Reward watch time is on under Watch time and coins in chat, with an Interval of 10 minutes or less and Active chatters only turned off.
- Optionally, under Notice after the stream in, pick a channel only your staff can read. The panel refuses other channels. The notice contains no names. You can leave it empty: then the list is only in the panel.
- Under Don’t count these names, enter the Twitch names of other bots in your chat and click Save.
- Should your Twitch mods see the list too? Turn on Mod view on under Connection and chat.
- Only people with the Manage Server permission in your Discord server can see the names. Your Twitch mods only see them if Mod view is on.
- Download viewer list (.txt) gives you all streams from the last 7 days in one file. You keep that file yourself. Anyone who later opts out with !privacy will still be in it, so don't keep it longer than needed.
- SlakBot does not post a notice about the viewer list in your Twitch chat. Feel free to tell your viewers they can opt out with !privacy.
- A shorter Interval also gives linked viewers more watch-time coins per hour. Adjust Coins per payout if needed.
- Don't want it? Turn off Viewer list on and click Save. Then no new lists are made. What was already there disappears by itself within 7 days.
- In the notice channel, SlakBot needs the View Channel, Send Messages and Embed Links permissions. Streams shorter than 10 minutes get no list.
- The viewer list card shows how many viewers opted out with !privacy in your chat. SlakBot does not show who they are.
Removing SlakBot from your server
Where to find it: Panel → Twitch Sub Roles (or Twitch Chat-bot) → Disconnect, then remove the bot from your server
If you remove SlakBot from your server, your settings are kept, so everything is back if you add the bot again later. You can no longer open the panel for that server. If you want your data deleted, request it at privacy@slakbot.nl.
Steps
- Have you linked your Twitch channel (for sub roles or the Twitch chatbot)? Then first go to Twitch Sub Roles or Twitch Chat-bot in the panel and click Disconnect. SlakBot then gives up its access to your Twitch channel and the chatbot stops.
- Then remove SlakBot from your server the way you remove any bot.
- Want your data actually deleted? Email privacy@slakbot.nl with the name or ID of your server.
- Do step 1 before you remove the bot. After that you can no longer open that server's panel, while the chatbot may keep running in your Twitch chat.
- The fixed terms keep running: the viewer list, for example, still disappears after 7 days.
Viewing or deleting your data
