SlakBot in 5 minutes

From install to first alert — step by step.

What you need

A Discord server where you have Manage Server permission
5 minutes of time
No credit card, no account signup

1Add SlakBot

Click the invite link and pick your server from the dropdown. SlakBot asks for a set of permissions — see below.

💡 Tip: Only tick the permissions you actually need. SlakBot works without Administrator, with fewer features.

2Run `/setup`

Once SlakBot is in your server, type /setup in any channel. An interactive wizard appears.

/setup

The wizard auto-creates:

#mod-log — moderation actions
#welcome — new member greeting
@SlakBot Online role — for live-alert pings

You can rename these later via the dashboard.

3Pick features

Open the dashboard and log in with Discord. Pick your server from the list.

Each feature has a simple toggle:

📺 YouTube alerts — enter your channel URL
💜 Twitch alerts — enter your username
🔴 TikTok LIVE — enter your TikTok handle
🛡️ Anti-Scam OCR — toggle on (no config needed)
⭐ Leveling — toggle on + pick XP per message
💰 Economy — toggle on (optional)

⚠️ Important: For school servers we recommend keeping Leveling and Economy off — avoids distraction. See /en/for/schools.

4Test your setup

Test that everything works:

/rank — shows your level (starts at 1)
/balance — shows 0 coins
/daily — gives 100 coins
/streamstats all — for streamer servers
