Terms of Service

1. About SlakBot

SlakBot is a free Discord bot operated by the sole proprietorship of Luca (Netherlands), registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 42137410, VAT identification number NL005526291B10. By adding the bot to your server or using the website, you agree to these terms.

2. Free service

SlakBot is offered free of charge. There is no premium tier and no payment required. We may introduce optional premium features in the future; we make no commitment about what anything will cost then.

The "Custom Bot" service (slakbot.nl/en/custom) is a paid service — see that page for its terms.

3. Acceptable use

By using SlakBot you agree NOT to:

• Use the bot to break Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines
• Spam, harass or threaten others using the bot
• Use the bot for illegal activities (NL/EU law applies)
• Try to reverse-engineer, scrape, or DDoS the service
• Resell or commercialise the bot's free features (custom bots licensed separately)
• Circumvent rate limits or abuse the API

Violations may result in the bot being removed from your server, account suspension, or in extreme cases reported to Discord Trust & Safety.

4. No warranty / liability

The free bot is provided "AS IS", at no charge and without any guarantee. There is no guarantee of uptime — the bot can go offline. We are not liable for:

• Downtime, data loss, or service interruptions
• Damage caused by bot misconfiguration on your end
• Discord platform issues outside our control
• False positives or false negatives in anti-scam detection

For the paid Custom Bot service, terms are agreed separately per project, in writing — see the contract.

5. Service availability

The status page at slakbot.nl/en/status shows the current state of the bot. There is no guaranteed level of availability and no formal commitment — if something goes down, we get it back up as soon as we can.

Planned maintenance is announced via our Discord support server and the status page.

6. Intellectual property

The "SlakBot" name, logo, and code remain the property of the creator. You may not use the SlakBot name or logo to promote your own products without written permission.

The content of your server (messages, custom commands, etc.) remains your property.

7. Termination

You can remove SlakBot from your server at any time via Discord's server settings.

We reserve the right to refuse service or remove the bot from servers that violate these terms.

8. Custom bot service

Custom bots built on request (for example the KAAKFAM bot) fall outside these terms. Terms for those are agreed separately, per project, in writing. See slakbot.nl/en/custom.

9. Virtual currency (coins)

SlakBot includes an economy system with a virtual currency ("coins"). The following applies:

• Coins are a closed, virtual currency with no monetary value.
• Coins cannot be exchanged for money or goods of monetary value, and cannot be paid out ("cash-out").
• Coins are not transferable outside SlakBot and represent no property, credit or claim.
• We and the server admin may adjust, reset or wipe balances at any time (e.g. a periodic season reset, abuse correction or technical migration), without compensation.
• We are not liable for lost or reset coins.
• Rewards from bits, subs or donations are a thank-you for engagement, not a purchase of anything with monetary value.

10. Games & gambling disclaimer

• Games such as /gamble, /blackjack and (in Twitch chat) !roulette, !duel and !heist use only the virtual, non-redeemable currency from section 9.
• There is no real stake and no cash prize — these games therefore do not qualify as gambling under the Dutch Betting and Gaming Act.
• The games are intended for 16+ and/or at the server admin's discretion; admins can disable each game per server.

11. Twitch link

• Linking your Twitch account to your Discord account is fully optional.
• When linked, we read your subscription status (to assign roles and perks) and the bot may post messages in Twitch chat on the streamer's behalf. See the privacy policy §2.7 for the data processing.
• You can unlink at any time (!ontkoppel in Twitch chat or /ontkoppel-twitch in Discord); this immediately deletes your link and tokens.
• The link is per server — linking in server A grants no access to server B.
• On unlinking, bot removal or the streamer stopping: tokens are deleted, tier roles are cleaned up, and open stakes (e.g. a pending duel) are refunded or expire.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in our Discord support server and via this page (new version at the top). Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes that we cannot settle between us go to the court of Zeeland-West-Brabant in the Netherlands, without prejudice to any mandatory rules that give you, as a consumer, the right to bring the matter before another competent court.
